Mashrabiya Folding Screen – Hand-Carved Wood, Mid-20th Century

$375.00
sold out

Three-panel folding screen in the traditional Mashrabiya (Moucharabieh) style, characterized by finely turned wooden elements arranged in a complex geometric lattice. Each spindle is hand-carved, interlocking to form repeating star and cross motifs typical of Middle Eastern architectural woodwork. The upper register is crowned with a row of small finials, lending the piece an architectural presence.

The screen retains its warm, natural patina, showing the subtle variations of hand-carved wood aged over decades. A few areas of the latticework have been damaged with time, consistent with age and use, yet the overall structure remains stable and highly decorative.

Height: 52 inches, Width of each panels: 0.75 inch, Length: 15.75 inches
