Formes in Blue, an oil on board by Hungarian-Canadian artist Eva Landori (1912–1987). Signed lower right and titled on the reverse.

She studied in Budapest and Paris before exhibiting extensively in Canada and internationally. Her work was shown at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, including an exhibition of her prints alongside Betty Goodwin in 1964, and is represented in the collection of the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal, among other institutional collections. PCH
In Formes in Blue, loosely defined figures emerge through layers of blue, grey and yellow, balancing abstraction with a suggestion of the human form. The small scale and gestural handling give the work an unusually intimate presence.
Oil on board. Signed lower right and titled on reverse. Presented in its existing frame.
Artwork Width: 15.5 in / 39 cm
Artwork Height: 11.5 in / 29 cm
