Set of Liberty Chairs, Ontario, 1970s — Reupholstered in Mirror Vinyl, France
Originally produced in Ontario in the 1970s, these Liberty chairs (4) embody a distinctly North American take on modernism — tubular steel construction, structural clarity, and an emphasis on honest materials. The frames retain their original chrome-plated finish, revealing subtle signs of time that contrast with their new reflective surfaces.
Recently reupholstered in a high-gloss mirror vinyl imported from France, the seats introduce a contemporary optical play, echoing the polished metal and heightening the sculptural presence of the set. The result is a dialogue between regional 1970s production and present-day material experimentation.
Excellent restored condition; minor wear on frames consistent with age. One chair has a welding repair.
Dimensions: Width : 17", Depth : 18", Height : 31" (seat height 17.5")
